HKCTA Tennis Club programmes are on a package basis for adult programmes and a term basis for all junior programmes. There are limited places available, therefore all classes must be prepaid in advance. You will be billed from the first date of your programme or package, until the final lesson in your package or term date for junior program.
Make Up Policy
Make-up classes must be utilised within the current term they are assigned. Credits cannot be carried over to the next term. Any make-up class that is not used or attended before the last day of the current term will be forfeited without exception.
Eligibility
Make-up classes will only be offered under the following conditions:
- A doctor’s certificate indicating the illness or injury is submitted within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
- Cancellations are made by the HKCTA Tennis Club Team due to adverse weather conditions. All other reasons will not qualify for a make-up class.
- Make-up classes apply only to students who are registered in HKCTA Tennis Club’s Junior Tennis Program.
- Make-up classes may only be attended by the student who is eligible for the class. Immediate family members, including siblings, are not permitted to attend in their place.
Scheduled Make-Up Days
Make-up classes will be scheduled on specific dates provided by the HKCTA Tennis Club Team. It is the responsibility of the student to be available for these designated make-up days. Any make-up class that is not used or attended before the last day of the current term will be forfeited and cannot be carried over to the next term.
Covid-19 Policy
Make-up classes missed due to a confirmed case of Covid-19 will only be offered to students who can provide a valid certificate of positive infection within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
Payments & Cancellation
Withdrawal Prior to Term Commencement
After registration, if you withdraw from the class before the term begins, an administrative charge of 10% of the lesson fee will be applied if a refund is requested.
Refund Policy After Term Commencement
Once registration is confirmed and the term has started, there will be no refunds for missed or unattended lessons.
Mid-Term Withdrawal Policy
Once a place is confirmed, withdrawal from the program mid-term is not permitted, except in cases of serious illness or injury, for which a medical certificate is required.
Make-Up Classes
If a player is unable to attend a class due to medical reasons or if the class is canceled due to bad weather, the student will be offered make-up classes equivalent to the number of classes missed (a medical certificate is required).
If a make-up class is offered but not attended, it will be considered as taken.
Make-up classes cannot be carried forward to the following term.
Child Safety
A parent or guardian must accompany children under six to the court.
All children must be collected promptly by their parent/guardian after the lesson has finished in consideration for their safety. As much as we love the children we cannot focus in two places at once. Responsibility for your child passes to you when they leave the tennis court after the completion of their lesson.
Parents are responsible for notifying HKCTA Tennis Club in writing immediately if they are aware of any medical condition affecting their children that may preclude them from participating in tennis activities.
HKCTA Tennis Club coaches are qualified professionals and offer a safe lesson environment for your child, however there is the possibility that injury may occur, even in the most supervised tennis environment. A condition of enrolling within the programme is that all parents and students acknowledge this fact, and agree to participate at their own risk. They also agree not to hold HKCTA Tennis Club, its directors, coaches or staff members responsible for any injury that may be caused whilst engaging in HKCTA Tennis Club tennis programmes.
It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate resources or necessary medical insurances to cover any injury or accident that may occur to their children whilst participating in, or travelling to and from tennis.
Wet Weather / Typhoons
Notification of Cancellations
Coaches will notify all students at least one hour before the scheduled class start time if the class is cancelled due to wet weather. If you do not receive a notification, you can consider the class is still on (If you’re registered for a Junior Tennis Programme and are not in a WhatsApp group, please contact us for assistance.)
Indoor Backup Facilities
Some of our venues have indoor backup facilities. Therefore, in case of wet weather please do not assume classes are cancelled without checking for WhatsApp group announcements.
Signal Warnings
When T8, Red, and Black signal warnings are hoisted, all classes – including indoor arrangements – will be cancelled.
If the T3 signal warning is hoisted, classes will continue unless it is raining. Please always double-check your Whatsapp group for announcements from your coach.
Make-Up Classes (Cancelled Classes Only)
If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, a make-up class will be arranged.
All make-up class options will be available through your Customer Portal. To participate, students must register for these classes.
We will announce the available make-up dates for registration through WhatsApp, so please keep an eye on your group.
Make-up classes must be completed within the same term.
